Introduction

The Graduate School of Science and Engineering's graduate program for international students offers highly qualified individuals opportunities to pursue doctoral studies and research in the field of environmental science. The fields of study include not only environmental science, but mechanical engineering and science, mathematics and informatics, bioscience and functional materials science.

The program includes courses specially designed for international students, in which class instruction and research supervision are given in English and/or Japanese. Doctoral dissertations are also accepted in English. Japanese language courses are also offered for foreign students and their spouses.

The programs start either in April or October and require a standard full time attendance of three years for a Doctor of Engineering/Doctor of Science/Doctor of Philosophy degree. A few students are financially supported by the scholarships from Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology each year.
