Why I entered GSC program

Considering my genuine aptitude, I dream myself to be an Environmental Scientist. Trained in natural sciences background, I have established deep understanding of natural resource management, ecosystem health and pollution control technologies. My understanding of concepts and ability of seek sustainable solutions is beyond ordinary. The educational credentials that I possess provides substantial evidence of my high end education career. The prime motive behind submitting application for PhD program under GSC program was laid upon my unparalleled motivation towards engaging in research activities. Upon careful self-examining, I realized of having a strong and inherent aptitude for carrying out research work. My future ambition is to indulge in a profession overwhelmed with research work leading to environmental management and sustainability. Hence, my determination to pursue career as an academic researcher and teacher is matched to my instincts. To be more precise, my objective for graduate studies is to prepare myself for acquiring a role of scholar and enabling knowledge expansion to a broader perspective through either research or teaching.

Research title

Integrated effect of Moringa Biochar and Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria on physiology, growth and nutrients uptake of Moring Plant under ozone stress

Research abstract

Elevated levels of tropospheric ozone (O3) are phytotoxic, inhibiting plant growth and production, and thus, compromising environmental health and sustainable crop production. Biochar Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) could mitigate plants under abiotic stress by influencing plant physiology and adaptation tolerance to ozone stress. A pot experiment with different combinations of Moringa biochar and PGPR under different levels of ozone stress will be performed using moringa plant as test crop along with controls groups without application of Moringa biochar and PGPR under each ozone stress. The study will be helpful in understanding the physiology, growth and uptake of nutrients under elevated O3.
