Why I entered GSC program

Green and Sustainable Chemistry Technology (GSC) was established to enhance intercultural interactions among young scientist around the world. As one of the leading environmental conservation countries, Japan's main environmentally sustainable development concept emphasizes on the acquisition of skills in agriculture, pollution prevention, environmental planning, and resource protection. Here, I can learn many technical analyses related to environment. GSC eases the economic pressure on students, so that they can focus more on scientific research to contribute to environmental problems.

Research title

Study of the degradation and physicochemical properties of some microplastics under anthropogenic processes.

Research abstract

Plastic wastes are introduced into the environment inevitably and their exposure in the environment causes deteriorate in mechanical and physicochemical properties and leads to the formation of plastic fragments, which are considered as microplastics when their size is <5 mm. In recent years, microplastic pollution has been reported in all kinds of environments worldwide and is considered as a potential threat to the health of ecosystem and human. However, knowledge on the environmental degradation of plastics and the formation of microplastics is still limited. So, its important to Identify the key environmental parameters and properties of plastics affecting the degradation is important to predict the fate of plastics in different environments and to facilitate the development of technologies for reducing plastic pollution.
