Consultations

Consultations on childcare, nursing care, work-life balance, and more

If you have any questions about how to proceed with research and education, work-life balance including childcare and nursing care, gender and sexuality, mental and physical health, workplace relationships, harassment or other gender equality and diversity matters, please do not hesitate to contact the Center for Gender, Diversity and Inclusion.

We will listen to the problems you face at work and in your daily life or problems that are difficult to discuss with people around you, and we will work with you to find solutions to your problems. Female counselors are available for problems and concerns that are difficult to discuss with men.

Do you have questions about raising children but don’t know who to ask? We will find the information you need.

Saitama City also offers online consultations.

Feel free to use the online child-rearing consultation service if you can’t make time for a consultation over the phone or in person or if you find it difficult to discuss your concerns over the phone.
A licensed childcare provider from a Saitama City Child-Rearing Support Center will handle your consultation. You can choose the Child-Rearing Support Center you would like to answer your questions. If you do not specify a center, a childcare provider at the Child-Rearing Support Center in your ward will respond.
If you are currently living outside of Saitama City and are looking for information on Saitama City because you plan to move here, the Child-Rearing Support General Coordinator will answer your questions.

With You Saitama provides consultations on spousal violence (domestic violence), dating violence (same-sex and opposite-sex violence), relationship problems, family and marital problems, and other difficulties faced in daily living.
Consultations are free of charge and strictly confidential.
We accept consultations regardless of age, gender (gender identity), or the nature of the consultation.
All calls are anonymous. We will ask for your age and municipality of residence so that we can provide you with appropriate information. (This service is available only to those who live, work, or study in Saitama Prefecture.)
Depending on the nature of your consultation, we may recommend that you consult with a more appropriate organization.
If necessary, we may also ask you to visit our office for an in-person consultation.

Telephone Consultations for Men

The With You Saitama Consultation Room provides telephone consultations for men, which are handled by a male clinical psychologist.

The Kokoro-no-Mimi hotline for working people is a telephone consultation service for working people, their families, and human resources and labor affairs supervisors at companies nationwide. Please consult with us about your problems and concerns regarding mental health issues, the stress check system that was launched in December 2015, measures to prevent health problems caused by overwork, and so on. Please be assured that your privacy will be strictly protected.

Information on childcare and nursing care in the region

Children’s emergency telephone consultations (#8000)

If you don’t know how to deal with a sudden illness of your child on holidays or at night, or you are not sure whether you should seek medical attention at a hospital, you can consult with a pediatrician or nurse by phone.
By dialing the nationwide abbreviated number (#8000), you will be automatically forwarded to the consultation desk in your prefecture, where you will receive advice from pediatric doctors and nurses on how to appropriately treat your child’s symptoms, what kind of hospital to seek treatment from, and more.

Childcare for sick and recovering children

When your child is sick or recovering from an illness and group childcare is not feasible, this program provides childcare and nursing care for children at hospitals, clinics, daycare centers, and other dedicated facilities.
