Program Overview

Research Field:

Environmental Studies, Environmental Creation Science, and Sustainable Systems

This program conducts advanced academic research to enhance the sustainability of the global environment, focusing on the themes of resource circulation and nature restoration (nature positive). These issues are not only relevant to Japan but also to other developed nations and developing countries supported by Japan—challenges that must be addressed on a global scale. To achieve practical and effective academic outcomes in the fields of resource circulation and nature restoration, the master’s program emphasizes not only technical approaches but also the development of knowledge in economics, sociology, and the liberal arts.

Eligible Students:

Outstanding international students from countries and regions that maintain good relations with Japan and where Japan’s support is expected to further strengthen mutual trust and cooperation.

Education and Objectives:

The program aims to promote research that contributes to solving the increasingly serious environmental issues faced by our planet. It fosters individuals who possess exceptional academic talent and can contribute to advancing Japan’s research standards, as well as those who are expected to take leadership roles in developing countries supported by Japan—thereby strengthening Japan’s ties with these nations.
